This really was a top game. i loved the thinking and writing down the notes. though i was too lazy to create a map thus i enever completed the game, but i probably will next time.
reminds me a little of impssible mission except this game was much much better.
I imagine in the era it came out 87, it would have been one of the best games around at the time

This game was almost brilliant. the 2 player mode was great, but the downfall was the trap system. you basically had to make a guess as to which trap was on which door/furniture. meaning you had a 50/50 chance of picking the correct item to diffuse each trap. if you guessed wrong, you're dead and then the opponent could just do this and wait for you to die then collect all the items you worked so hard to get.
It's been a good 15-20 years since i played this so i dunno how well it still holds up, but was a greaat 2 player game

This game had such potential to be a classic. we start off on the hovercraft riding round the desert and go into various areas/caves where it switches to platform mode and you complete tasks/ go through the level, then ride off to find more.
Cool feature where you can switch between luke and Han (when you find him)
I got stuck on the deathstar though trying to destroy some towers that shoot at you and had no idea what i was supposed to do. quite alet down on these more diffucult later levels. but good game for a bit of boredom killing

I can't believe they charged money for this game. while it was entertaining a fun side scrolling shooter with cool transforming features...the game is a continous loop of a couple of minutes. as simple as this game is it's still great. i played it just last year and it was still as good s when i played it 1st in 1992. this time however being older and wiser than then i was able to complete the game properly (getting all the dolls) that was a moment of closure in my life.
I'm stillfilled with nostalgia when i see this game or hear the music. i doubt the sequels are actually related to this game in any way at all.

This is the best platformer game ever created. although arguably it could be considered an rpg. It took elements from the previous title and expanded on them.
You play as a fire breathing dragon, a swimming fish man, a mouse who can get through the small gaps and stick to the walls, a lion who can break blocls below him, and the flying hawk man.
why sega never expanded on the concept of this game with the saturn or dreamcast is a complete mystery. and probably explains why they arent in the console market at the moment. lets hope for future developments.
I'm only giving this a 9 for being too short/easy

Very hard game though, i wish they'd take that timer out of the game, i think thatd make it quite fair.
I hate to say that this game is a blueprint to its superior sequel, but it still ranks in my top 5 sms games.

God i loved this game. 1st time i got it i was 9, me and my friend were too young to understand the game then. so we got stuck a lot. so we made our own game in it, by sitting inthe dark and playing the mine levels. then when the enemys appeared we'd shit ourselfs! haha it was like an early survival horror.
Anyway 3 years later i played this game again and was able to understand it better and appreciate it more. while initially the combat system of walking into the enemys seemed stupid you do get used it it, and it makes for a less frustrating game later on when you can just walk straight through the weaker enemys. none of that going into a combat screen every few seconds like in modern rpgs for a random encounter with weak enemys all the time.

I'm huuge fan of RPG's and i remember playing this in 95 and being disspointed due to the lack of trditional rpg gameply involved. 16 years later i gave it another go, and now i apprecite it a bit more. i dont know how to compare it, maybe a cross between gauntlet and Ys, but it's quite an addictive game. and the randomly generated maps make it all the more fun, meaning the next time you play it's completely different game. Sometimes you need a bit of luck on your side with this.
I managed to get to level 30 and could actually see the ending, but the creatures were way too powerful and fast for me to actully reach it. so i officially gave up. may revisit it again one day and give it another crack.

Movies and Tv Shows being mde into games always fools you when you're a kid. 'oh i love that show!/movie!' etc so you immediatly assume the game is going to be great. 9 out of 10 times you'll be let down. this game is in that category.
To be fair i never progressed past the 1st level where you have the ardous task of...painting the fence. Now most kids don;t want to paint a fence, but someone mustve thought thats what kids love doing, as they made the 1st level of this game, just that, painting a fence. I turned it off after about 3 attempts. still, i wont wrote it off as awful just yet, cos it could very well get better later on. but a good game will captivate you from the beginning, and unless you like painting fences, then this probably won't do that for you

Again another zelda-esque clone, but probably better. only thing letting it down for me is the boss levels, while innovative and pretty cool, was far too easy to make one tiny mistake and die. and the password system i was never a fan of, but i guess theres not much you can do about that in an era not as advanced as we became in the 90's
